Why Wont Young Blacks Vote?

Has the past discouraged the lower and mid class African American youth from using their freedom to vote? Yesterday was election time and many young democrats were on the rocks about who to vote for, or if they should even participate at all.

Yesterday showed a stunning 9% percent difference in the polls for African American youth voting compared to the polls that placed Obama in the white house in 2008 President election. http://www.cbsnews.com

The ultimate question seems to be, what is the lack of motivation in our communities?

This morning 93.9-- reported that "Over 4 million blacks DID NOT VOTE for the November 2, 2010 midterm election.

Some youth from ages 18-29 feel they should not vote because it does not have an actual affect on the laws chosen, others feel like we "owe it to their ancestors to vote," states anonymous current Art Institute student.

In 2008 the demanding numbers from voices of the people proved if everyone participates in voting, the polls will not lie. During 2008 elections the polls showed people of America wanted to be apart of something historical, but many do not understand that it does not stop at the President.

The President does not make the laws, he suggest them, and announces the results. The Senate and State Governor decides what is best for its boundary.

Black people need to wake up and stop half-assing! Many reasons discourage young blacks not to vote, but at the end of the day we have an obligation to our ancestors, which is to not let their struggle end in vain.

We need to unite and remember we have equal say in rights and opportunity.

Wake up! Listen to the 'bullshit' you do not so called want to hear from our Senators and Governors, they hold the voice of our communities so that you can have the opportunity to have a voice and make a change.

Join the Movement- "We are not Losers...We are Lasers"

Lately, the music industry is the highest entertainment in demand. Most music artist would like to have their own direction and originality, but many end up in failure. Why? Because they dont have the balls to overcome the need of over indulgence or just too scared to release the real, because it might mess up the money.

The media is a powerful word of mouth and only one artist seems to be using it to turn negative into postive advantages. Lupe Fiasco, a lyrisists that speaks positive truth to the people, and this time he has created a movement that will carry on for decades.

Coverting 'loosers to lasers', is Fiasco's main mission of manifestation. Teaching everyone who take the time to read that they are worth more than what the eye can judge. This 'Laser' theory opens the average eye to the meaning of indivisuality, demading people to take charge of their thoughts and ideas.

After two years of getting denied to release his work of artistry under Atlantic Records the decision has finally been optomized to release Losers into Lasers in March 2011.

Not as easy to get a release date as it sounds, the push for a decision took more fan dedication than expected. Thousands of Fiasco fans took charge October 15, 2010 for what is now known in the Lupe world as "Fiasco Friday", a day the fans congregated in the front of Atlantic Records headquarters in New York to protest the constant push back of the release date.

Many fans stated "We are sick of the plague of ill-inspired lyrics with repetitive song structure and meaning that corrupts our corporation run radio stations," basically meaning that people want to hear music that they relate to.

Lupe Fiasco showed up in mere gratitude of his fan support, and delivered a small word during his peaceful protest.

A generation hungry for indivisuality and knowlegde is evolving in our nation and speak outloud when dealing with unjustified issues against what is not right. With efforts to cut the line of subliminal mind control, and capitalization off of the poor these attributes are embedded into our nation in which they thrive.

But there is always room for change, to change you must believe and then persue. Join the movement of Losers into Lasers and support the release of positive music that nuture our minds, and "Spread the seed." Peace
